Grouchy, Grumpy Or Just A Pain In The Backside!
I always thought I was normal and although people stayed clear of me I felt it was just a stage of my life. Victor Meldrew from the BBC comedy “ One Foot in the Grave” was someone I had some empathy with . Everything went wrong and he and I always saw a negative spin on the outcome!
Was it age related? Being a grandfather and retired left me with time on my hands. Time to think, and view the world as a place where the past was always better. The future held no positives but just a number of reasons to see that life was changing and leaving me behind.
Now I’m told in a recent review from Australia that grumpy and grouchy are good! Apparently I’m good at making considered decisions, am less gullible and am likely to be a better communicator.
It seems they have found that happy people seem to rush through life without due attention. Their positive mood spurs creativity, encourages flexibility and a tendency to see short cuts. However they feel that there is room for a “grouchy” in their world!
I’m not sure what the Aussies take in their tea but their research has made me positively beam!
